Meet the Station"s Owner

Curnell George Hairston, Sr. owns the station

I began my radio career in 1960 at WILA spinning gospel music. At that time, WILA was the only broadcast facility in the area programming specifically to the needs of the African-American community. Of course; this was back in the day when AM radio was “king”.

In 1983, I saw an opportunity to purchase WDVA-AM and fill a programming void in the marketplace. I had no doubt that a Gospel format was definitely the way to go. Over the years, God has been good! The station has been a success and I’ve never looked back.

I do the “C.G.’s Oldie Goldie Gospel Show’ on Sunday mornings from 6 am to 7 am and from 10:30 am to 11 am. Tune in and give it a listen!
